Mobile Application Developers often over look most important factor called "Usability" while they develop any mobile application. Usability of any mobile application serves very crucial role in mobile application development, as success of any mobile application heavily depends on its usability.

The issue of usability in mobile application development rise due to not so tailored or predefined set of rules for determining usability of any mobile application. Also, everyday there are numerous mobile devices launched with different configurations and screen sizes, which raise the difficulty level for mobile app developers to develop highly usable application which can run on any mobile device with ease.

Below are some most common factors, which affect usability in mobile app development:-

• Most common factor affecting usability is constantly varying screen sizes of different mobile devices! Daily hundreds of new smart phone devices launched with different resolution, which makes almost impossible for application developers to create application which can run smoothly on any mobile devices.

• Tiny fonts may reduce usability of your app! Every device has predefined font size, which makes it difficult for developers to set fonts for their applications and make their app more user-friendly.

• Poor mixture of color combination of application! Every developer wishes their application to be unique and eye catchy and to do so they use highly contrasted color combinations, which makes app less usable for the mobile device users.

• Not so clear button functionalities of app! Many developers often develop app having very complicated process for navigation within app through buttons and even doesn't provide any guidelines for using buttons within app, which makes application very less usable.

• Insufficient knowledge of mobile device & application development platform, for which developers develop application! It very common for novice developers to jump directly into development of mobile applications without having proper knowledge about platform they use or which kind of devices can be suited for applications, screen resolutions and many more. Applications developed with partial knowledge of basic things could result in poor usability of the application.

• Over smartness of using some unusual and less common functions in app! As a fresher in mobile app development, it is very common to get excited and developing app with some unusual and less common functionalities without knowing whether the devices supports such functionalities or not, which at the end leads poor supports from devices as well as make them terrible to access app and reduce usability as well.
